Topping out ceremony marks major milestone for Mountbatten House transformation
Medway Development Company and Keady Construction Ltd celebrated a significant milestone last week as they marked the official topping out of Mountbatten House, coming together to acknowledge the progress made and the collaborative effort behind this transformational scheme.
The iconic building is now being transformed into a high-quality residential development featuring new commercial unitsand a vibrant public realm area. Once complete, Mountbatten House will deliver modern homes, new hospitality/commercial opportunities and enhanced community spaces in the heart of Chatham.
The project also plays a key role in strengthening connections across the town. The enhanced public realm surrounding Mountbatten House will complete the new high street link, creating a seamless pedestrian route directly to Chatham train station. This improved connection is expected to boost footfall, support local businesses and contribute to the wider regeneration of the area.
Lewis Small, Managing Director at Medway Development Company said:“Reaching the topping out stage is a major moment for everyone involved in this project. Mountbatten House is set to become a landmark destination for residents and visitors alike, combining high-quality homes with exceptional leisure spaces and improved links through the town centre. This development reflects our commitment to delivering positive, long-lasting change for Chatham and the wider Medway community.”
The transformation of Mountbatten House forms part of Medway Development Company’s ongoing strategy to revitalise key town centre locations, create new economic opportunities and reinforce Medway as an attractive place to live, work, and visit.
